Week #74 - Mother's Day & A Food Challenge!!!

Heyyy everyone :)

Its been a really weird week haha but my companion and i are both staying so it should be a really awesome transfer!! This is going to be a mothers day email because i love my mom so much and every other woman that is devoting themselves to help others!! I Its amazing to be able to have a day wholly sanctified to mothers now, or future mothers where we can stop and think about how much they do for us. The more we think of the roles of women i always think about the priesthood that us males hold and how worthless it would be without the women in our lives. Mainly because the very existence of us as human beings would cease to be without the mothers in our lives starting on earth with Eve and every mother afterwards. Then with our heavenly mother from which we know all of us come. Its amazing to see even the importance of the mother when in John 19. while nailed to the cross in pure agony and pain, after suffering so much pain we wouldnt even be able to keep our consciousness our brother and the savior of the world proclaimed with thee most solemn respect to his beloved apostle john... "Behold they Mother!" With John taking care of her from then on. DO SOMETHING GREAT FOR YOUR MOTHERS, THEY ARE EVERYTHING!

Well side topic from that I did a challenge last week where I did a food challenge, where i had to eat about 3-4 pounds of food. The meal comprised of one burger with: (from bottom to top) bun, 10 ounce patty w/cheese, 2 pieces of bacon, lettuce and 2 tomatoe slices, grilled ham (like seriously a pack of lunch meat) and cheese, another 10 ounce patty w/cheese, 2 pieces of bacon, lettuce and 2 tomatoe slices, 2 onion rings,  and the bun to top it off just kidding there was still a pound and a half of fries on the side. So we had to finish it in thirty minutes and i got through all the burger but 5 ounces of meat with 18 minutes left but because i was shoving it down so fast I threw up.....and to top it off...it was on the plate so I couldn't try to finish. It was worth the memories that's for sure haha the waitress said "you are so nasty!"

Week #73 - Arnold Schwarzenegger?

So what up, what up, what up!!!! :)

This has been an awesome week!! we were able to do a lot of finding and meeting people as well we got two more people on date for baptism so we are pretty pumped about that. Devonte and Davineir, Devonte is a guy here that has lived a pretty rough life and really wants to get his life on track, and Davineir is a super awesome guy from the Bahamas. When we set Devontes date it was extremely easy he just wants it but we need to make sure he stays committed. Now, Davineir doesn't break commitments but when we invited him to be baptized he was very hesitant but we were able to ask some really great inspired questions. We asked him if he felt like God would ever lead him down the wrong path and he said no, then we asked if he felt like we were called by God, he said 50% haha so i mean it was alright ;) Then, we promised him we are called of God and that God would never lead him down a wrong path so if he truly trusts God he could make the decision to prepare to be baptized then he accepted the date it was awesome! :)

Oh, sacrament meeting was super awesome yesterday too and I was able to witness the best testimony ever from our ward missionary haha he was talking about the holy ghost and how it talks differently to each of us. He said i don't know about you guys but to me the voice of the spirit to me is Arnold Schwarzenegger. He said "I'll be sitting and listening to others bear their testimony and then I'll hear..." *in voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger. "Do it, C'mon do it, get up there and bear it, bear it all!" Then he says if he doesnt get up and bear his testimony then that is when the catch phrase comes in. "Do it....or I'll be back" bahaha i was laughing so hard in sacrament it was so hard to contain myself i just thought it was so classic haha and he didnt so calm and collected especially with the Arnold voice. In all seriousness though, follow the spirit which leadeth to do good and i can promise you will never be led astray, God does not work like that. Read Preach my Gospel chapter 4 to see how the spirit talks to you :)

Week #72 - AWESOME

So this week was such an awesome week but at the same time a little bit difficult :) We had the baptism of the Byrd family #Byrdbath and man that was so awesome i just had a grin from cheek to cheek it was so so so good. :) Practically the whole ward was there and it just went so smoothly and the spirit was very strong. Then after the baptism we went out to teach and our day fell through and it was just rough but keeping them in my mind made it so much more sweet.

Guys I just love the gospel so dang much and everything it offers! I dont even know what to write at this moment but I do know that the time is winding down oh so fast and it kills me haha so many changes in our mission right now and my companion wont stop talking about home and singing music from home so I'm pretty trunky but still working hard :) We have been playing this card game every so often at night called superfight and it is the best, we just yell and argue about who would win and its hilarious, I'm sure our neighbors are like what is going on over there. The game lets you randomly pick a character card and two attributes and you argue why you would beat the other opponent and it is so fun haha I will send you pictures later for the baptism and you can check my blog for more stuff! :) Guys, I will make next weeks email much better I just don't even know this week bahaha

Ask me questions and I will answer, I LOVE YOU

P.S I MISS MOUNTAINS

Sorry the pictures are bad I will send better ones next week from my camera

Week #71 - 3674 Middleburg Lane, Apt. 104

Alrighty so my address is at the top of this bad boy, sorry I gave some of you the wrong address but hopefully you haven't sent the goods yet ;) Email me your best selfie this week people?!?! We can do a contest and I'll send out the best one next week ;) Well this week has been pretty dang great we had the interview for Emily Copp and Michael Byrd they will be baptized this weekend on saturday! :D

Also, we had the opportunity to meet some really really wonderful people! our baptisms have been great but they are bleeding us dry of investigators to teach so we are finding right now and its been awesome to see the Lord rain down manna from heaven :)

So today i just wanted to share some spiritual goodness, I just want to start by phrasing a question. DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH GOD LOVES YOU?  I don't think any of us truly understand the magnitude of his love for us.
Psalms 8:4, "What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the sons of man, that thou visiteth him?"
We are literally and truly the offspring of the creator of the UNIVERSE, the supreme and mighty being, master of the elements and giver of life. And his greatest creation is what? IT IS US, you can look into the vast expanse of space and search all around the world when all you have to do is look in a mirror and your staring at Gods greatest and most special creation (NO, not the mirror) So I want you to then think closely about this, who is God without us? Without all of his creations he would cease to be, because there would be no one to recognize him as such. Yet without him obviously we are nothing as well but the thought of his love for us and our love for him combine to make the supreme setting for progress and growth. God truly loves you so much, never ever forget that, when all seems dark he truly will never ever leave you. I type these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Love you guys :)

(Not church doctrine, or is it....maybe you should study and find out for yourself :) )

Week #70 - Baptism & A Short Email

Hey guys,

It has been a really really awesome week!! I wish I could send voice recordings so bad, but we can't anymore. But we baptized 2 members of the Alas family and it was wonderful, the kids are so cute I almost cried bahaha as well.

Guys, I just don't even know what to write this week i mean the work is going absolutely swimmingly, my companion and i are doing great, and nothing really crazy happened this week....except we picked up a lady named Jan and we thought she wasn't gonna be super solid because she had some pre-conceived notions of concepts in the bible but she already believes the book of mormon to be the word of God, Joseph smith to be led by God, and pre earth life, spirit world, and age of accountability for baptism. she is so freaking awesome!!!!

Sorry this email is so short, if you have any questions just email me them :)
